About Bad Monkey Productions
Bad Monkey Productions is a new, Seattle-area, production company. It is the
brain child of Jennessa Richert and Elissa Walstead. It all started when Jennessa
asked Elissa to coffee to talk about a project, The Crucible. Two years later, after
many drinks, lots of elbow grease, some outrageous ideas and a silly name, they
open with their debut production of The Crucible. They are most fortunate to
have such an incredible cast and crew for this show; they make it look easy.
Bad Monkey is dedicated to producing exciting and relevant works and look
forward to their next production.
Jennessa Richert
Jennessa started her career in film working on such shows as The Fugitive
Series, Rose Red, The Ring and Citizen Banes. She then moved to Los Angeles
to further explore her career in directing and art direction. There she worked for
Warner Brothers and CBS on such series as Lucky and The Agency. Jennessa
helped to produce several independent films during her stay in L.A. She returned
to Seattle in 2003 and start Bad Monkey with Elissa Walstead.
Elissa Walstead
Elissa has been acting since she was a child - her first role was an ugly stepsister
in the Beacon Hill Elementary production of Cinderella – but did not get
serious about it until five years ago. She has performed in Our Town, Proof,
Veronika Falling, Ludlow Fair and The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui (at the CHAC).
Elissa has been producing video and web since 1997. The Crucible is her first
theater production.
